History - The dam project in the bay of Mont Saint Michel

This document (only in french) is an archive of Ina (Institut National de l’Audiovisuel). With a duration of 5min, it was recorded during the program "Visa for the Future" October 22, 1964.

At that time, a huge project provides a tidal power plant in the bay of Mont Saint Michel, with a dam 40 km long and 800 turbines. This project is being studied at the Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble, the Laboratory of fluid mechanics in the section of the study of tides. The interview with Mr. Gabriel CHABERT D’HIERES, head of the study shows the Coriolis platform (as it was then) to model the flow, and predict consequences such equipment on the residents.
